| Sposób ustalania oceny końcowej: | (tylko po angielsku) The final grade will consist of two components. First, you will be asked to submit one final paper at the end of the semester (more details about this will be distributed during our meetings. Second, students are expected to attend, actively participate in, and complete relevant exercises and assignments during the breakout sections (i.e., ćwiczenia). |

(tylko po angielsku) This class will focus on the history, development, and significance of Christianity as a religion and as a philosophical system, which has helped shape much of the Western tradition of thinking and its culture. In addition to analyzing the influence of Christianity on the ancient and modern world, we will also examine how it interacted with other major religions traditions, such as Judaism and Islam. The course participants will also learn about such key concepts in social sciences as secularization, modernization, and development. After completion of the course, students will not only improve their knowledge about key philosophical concepts (i.e., good, evil, justice), but they will also become much better versed in the field of the history of religion, and the analysis of phenomena accompanying modernity. |
