Management of pot cultures.

Isolation of spores and preparation of single species culture.

DNA extraction from spores.

PCR to amplify molecular markers for identification of AMF species.

Laboratory work under the instruction of the supervisor and his assistant.

Lab sessions aimed to improve the student ability and precision to perform the tasks in the thesis project.

Periodically meetings aimed to evaluate the progress of the student in the knowledge of the background related to the topic of the thesis and to discuss further possible developments in the research work.

The final evaluation will be based on:

1) continuous assessment of laboratory skills and knowledge of the background related to the topic of the thesis. (30% of the final grade);

2) commitment to the work (20% of the final grade);

3) evaluation of preparing reports (20% of the final grade);

4) problem solving skills related to the laboratory routine (10% of the final grade);

5) presentation of the results in the final report (20% of the final grade).
