Metody i kryteria oceniania:

during the course, the tutor continuously assesses the student's work in terms of the above-mentioned substantive requirements, verifies his theoretical and practical skills related to the current topic of classes, assesses commitment, reliability and reliability during work and in the preparation of documentation, as well as creativity in solving research problems. Thanks to the use of gamification methods in the teaching process, the tutor activates students and, using digital tools, such as Kahoot or Mentimeter quizzes, verifies knowledge on an ongoing basis during classes, which allows for continuous quantified assessment of students.

[when online] The condition for the evaluation is contact with the audio-visual student, in the event of lack of technical possibilities to participate in classes using a camera and microphone, the student's responsiveness is obligatory via chat on the MS Teams channel.

Zakres tematów:

1. Introduction and genomic databases

2. Comparative sequence algorithms

3. Prediction of gene sequences and regulatory elements

4. Molecular phylogenetics

5. Structural bioinformatics - protein modeling

6. Genom project - why and how we sequence genomes

7. Analyzes of high-throughput NGS sequencing data

Metody dydaktyczne:

Lecture on selected topics in the field of bioinformatics with the use of a multimedia presentation. During the lecture, the lecturer provides specialist knowledge in the field of bioinformatics, to the extent that will enable basic analyzes to be carried out in the field of: searching for biological information in databases, comparing DNA and protein sequences, identifying functional elements of the genome and determining protein functions, as well as phylogenetic research conducted on the basis of available sequences. In addition, students will learn how to analyze data from Next Generation High Throughput Sequencing (NGS). At each lecture, the tutor uses gamification methods in the didactic process, thanks to which the tutor activates students and with the use of digital tools, such as Kahoot or Mentimeter quizzes, consolidating the knowledge with the students on an ongoing basis during the classes.
